Housing Support Services
Housing Support services assists homeless people to find housing; supports clients to maintain their housing and to make
links with community services. Housing staff are available on Housing Intake 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday to
assist people in housing crisis. We give phone advice and offer appointments to assist with a range of housing matters including applications for private rental, community and public housing. We also assist with TICA.
Although we do not provide any emergency housing we do refer people to emergency housing providers.
Applications for YFS Housing can be made through Housing Intake or we can fax or mail one to you.
YFS Housing is for people on low incomes.
Who can access this service?
We allocate available housing according to set criteria and we give preference to people, who traditionally
experience difficulty in obtaining housing accommodation, including:
- Homeless people and families
- Families with young children in family violence crisis
- People with disabilities
- Young people leaving shelters or correction facilities
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with young children
