It is an offence to sell cigarettes to someone under 18.
If the police or a health service employee watch you buy cigarettes, they can ask you for your name, age and address. It is an offence not to give your correct details.
Queensland law prohibits smoking inside pubs, night clubs, restaurants and workplaces. It is also against the law to smoke outdoors in public places such as patrolled beaches, children’s playgrounds, sporting stadiums and within 4 metres of the entrance of buildings such as shopping centres, public businesses, etc.
