Legal Stuff

Logan Youth Legal Service provides free legal information, advice and representation for young people in Logan City and surrounding areas. For example, lawyers from LYLS can:

• give you legal information or advice by email or on the phone;
• come to the Police Station with you;
• represent you in Court.

Most young people represented by LYLS are aged under 18 years, and dealing with criminal law or child protection matters. LYLS also provides legal advice to young people about lots of other issues. 

Support

Young people with legal problems sometimes need help with other problems, like having somewhere to live or enrolling in school. Social workers and youth workers at LYLS can help you with:

• counselling;
• advocacy (sticking up for you);
• court support (coming to court with you);
• information about other places you can go for help, and assistance to get there.

Community education

Lawyers, social workers and youth workers from LYLS provide community education workshops for young people. LYLS workshops can focus on issues to do with young people and the law or on topics like sexual health or drug use. We also run workshops about legal issues for youth workers, community organisations and others who work with young people. For more information on the range of community education workshops we provide, please click here.

Community projects
