A program helping parents of young children reenter the workforce has expanded in Yarrabilba.

YFS’ ParentsNext program, which has already assisted nearly 400 mums and dads, is now available by appointment at the Yarrabilba Community Hub.

Project manager Rachel Smith said the burgeoning suburb had been popular among young families and many could benefit from the service.

“We believe employment and education are really important for people to be truly independent and to participate actively in society,” she said.

“It may seem overwhelming when you have small children. We work with parents to help them understand the benefits that employment and education opportunities can bring into the family home.

“Parents we’ve helped move into work or training say they feel better about themselves; and they are happy to be good role models for their children by having these improvements in their lives.”

ParentsNext is also available at YFS’ offices at Slacks Creek, Browns Plains and at the Logan North Library at Underwood.
