People with a disability

YFS’ Community Connections service provides opportunities for adults with a disability to take part in social and educational activities. Our Social Links program offers group activities, events and outings in a community setting.

We encourage you to be active in your community, and we champion your abilities and independence. YFS will work with you, your family and carers to provide interesting individual or group-based services that help you build confidence and make the most of your abilities.

We meet with you to work out what you would like to achieve and how we will work together.

Community Connections

How we can help

Community Connections provides community access opportunities for adults with a disability to take part in social and educational activities with friends and peers. It’s fun, it’s fabulous, our fees are competitive and activities can be individualised or with a group.

We have activities you can join (for example volunteering, animal care, 16C Café, sport, Friday night Socialites) and we welcome your ideas for groups and social events.  You can involve anyone who plays a significant role in your life.

Who is eligible

People with a disability aged 16+ who have left school. You can either be referred by Disability Services Queensland or you can use our services as a fee-paying customer.
