Following the success of last year’s event, the Independent Social Enterprise Network, led by Substation33, will be hosting the 2016 Logan Social Enterprise Expo on Wednesday 2nd November at the Logan Entertainment Centre.
More than 90 stallholders and 13 industry guest speakers will be attending and Minister for Science and Innovation, Leeanne Enoch MP will inaugurate the event at 9:00 am.
The 2016 Logan Social Enterprise Expo allows the local business community to connect and network with new and existing social enterprises in the area and aims to increase awareness of the valuable contribution of Social Enterprises and Not-For-Profit in Logan.
Tony Sharp, chair of the Independent Social Enterprise Network-Logan and Social Enterprise Development manager for Substation33 said the event held last year exceeded all expectations with 57 Social Enterprises, Not-For-Profit organisations and affiliated businesses participating and over 350 people visiting, mainly from the Logan area.
“This year’s event will be even larger with over 90 stallholders showcasing their products and services and guest speakers throughout the day sharing their knowledge and experience with the local community,” Mr Sharp said.
The event has been coordinated by YFS’ social enterprise, Substation33 which has taken leadership of The Independent Social Enterprise Network Logan providing support, advocacy and knowledge sharing for Logan based social enterprises and not for profits.
“There is a growing need for practical business and innovation. We work together with local social enterprises and businesses helping them develop their innovative ideas and maximise their potential for success,” he said.
“The Expo is a great opportunity for all of us to meet, build stronger business relationships and make things happen,” he added.
