People with a disability

We encourage you to be active in your community, and we champion your abilities and independence.

Introduced to Logan in 2018, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) offers new opportunities for people with a disability to achieve their goals and live the lives they want.

Although YFS will no longer provide disability services, there are many people and organisations in our area offering support.

We are working with our current clients to help them move to other services.

About the NDIS

We’ve prepared a handy information sheet, NDIS and what it means to you, which offers some great advice on becoming a participant of the scheme.

The information sheet outlines a two-step process to become a participant. Step 1 is about access. Step 2 is about planning.

Importantly, there are also helpful tips, developed by our former disability services staff and based on their involvement in helping our clients to access the NDIS.

You can apply to access the NDIS at any time.
