Our approach is guided by the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and aligned with our obligations under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld)<\/em>, including compliance with the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme.<\/p>\n

YFS has a zero tolerance of child abuse<\/strong>, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated seriously and consistently as per our policies and procedures and legal duties.<\/p>\n

In line with our legal and moral obligations to children, young people, and adults, we will contact relevant authorities when we are concerned about a person\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n

We are committed to preventing abuse by identifying risks early and taking action to eliminate or reduce those risks in accordance with our Safeguarding Framework.<\/p>\n

We maintain safe recruitment procedures and regularly train and educate our staff about risks to children, young people and adults, including how to recognise, respond to and report concerns.<\/p>\n<\/div> <\/div>\n

We foster culturally safe environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families and communities, as well as those from culturally and\/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. We are also committed to providing safe, inclusive and accessible environments for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

We encourage children and young people to participate in decisions that affect them, support them to understand their rights, and ensure their voices are heard and taken seriously. We work collaboratively with families, carers and communities to promote and maintain child-safe environments. We provide accessible, child-focused ways for children, young people, families and communities to raise concerns, make complaints and provide feedback safely.<\/p>\n

YFS embeds safeguarding into governance, policies and everyday practice. This includes maintaining policies, procedures and training that support our staff to uphold these commitments.
