Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) Women’s Advocates connect with people who have experienced violence and abuse from a partner, ex-partner or family member attending the Disrupting Family Violence Program (DFVP).

The DFVP is delivered across various Correctional Centres statewide.

We walk alongside you as you navigate your pathway to safety. We can provide information and support you to access specialist services including counselling, legal and family supports that increase safety and wellbeing.

Through a trauma-informed and person-centred approach, we will connect in a flexible, responsive and collaborative way that is respectful, culturally appropriate, non-judgmental and supports self-determination.

We will connect with you wherever you are in Queensland, and your safety is our number one priority.

Support is available by phone, online or in person as requested.

What to expect

Our first engagement with you will be via phone where we will introduce ourselves, the program and explore your hopes and needs for safety and wellbeing.

With your consent, we can stay in touch through the program and beyond, depending on what feels right for you. We will be guided by you on when you no longer want or need to engage with us.
