For over 40 years, YFS has helped residents in Logan and the Scenic Rim to live, work and thrive in the community they call home. We have grown from supporting young people and their families to providing a vast range of services that help all vulnerable people in our communities and beyond.
Looking forward, we are driving integrated services that treat the whole person, advocacy for more affordable housing options in Logan, and new employment opportunities through 变电站33 to support people toward stable and rewarding lives despite challenges of affordability and gentrification.
YFS’ continued growth in the last financial year saw us help more people toward safe, sustainable futures, right here in their community.

Through our partnership with Hand Heart Pocket, we are exploring what works for vulnerable young parents and their families to thrive. Our evaluation shows the strength of integrated service packages that support people’s diverse needs.
We have been helping people toward stability and success in our communities for over 40 years. Every year, we capture the data, moments and experiences that tell the stories of people and programs across our organisation.
After months of couch surfing and motel stays, Cheryl found stability through a YFS Ellen Whitty tenancy — which gave her family a safe home and, crucially, a rental reference to secure private housing again. “The kids are more settled now,” she says. “They know it’s ours.”
