Leave a gift in your will

Why people choose to leave a gift to YFS

  • To support people facing complex challenges in Logan and surrounds
  • To back practical, evidence‑informed support and advocacy
  • To invest in long‑term community wellbeing beyond their lifetime
  • To help ensure YFS remains responsive, independent and community‑led

All gifts left to YFS are used for our general purposes, allowing us to direct support where it is needed most.

How to leave a gift to YFS in your will

1

Decide what type of gift you would like to leave

Many supporters choose to leave a monetary gift or a percentage of their estate. Others may choose to leave an asset, such as property or shares.

2

Speak with your loved ones

Let your family or executor know your intention and ensure they understand your wishes.

3

Seek professional advice

Your will is an important legal document. A solicitor can help ensure your wishes are clearly and correctly recorded.

4

Include YFS in your will

Provide your solicitor with the following wording:

I (insert name) bequeath to YFS Ltd ABN 58 239 250 649 (insert the percentage or residue of my estate, the amount of money, or details of the asset). This gift is to be used for the general purposes of YFS. I declare that the receipt of the Secretary or other authorised officer of YFS shall be a full discharge of this bequest.

5

Updating an existing will

If you already have a will, you can add a short legal amendment, known as a codicil. Your solicitor can advise on the best approach.
