YFS backs people to thrive – not just survive – by fostering safety, hope, and opportunity.

Who we are

For more than 40 years, YFS has worked alongside individuals, families and communities across Logan, Beaudesert and surrounding regions, to support them through life’s challenges and build stronger futures.

Guided by our values of excellence, integrity, optimism, steadfastness and courage, we walk alongside our clients to create positive and lasting change. Every person has strengths, aspirations and the ability to shape their own future. Our role is to provide the support, opportunities and connections that help make this possible.

What we do today

YFS delivers a broad range of integrated services that respond to the needs, aspirations and strengths of our community. Our work spans housing and homelessness, domestic and family violence support, family services, youth programs, employment services, financial wellbeing, legal, and local community development.

Through these services, we support thousands of people each year to find safety and stability, strengthen relationships, improve wellbeing, build independence and shape hopeful futures in their community. By working across multiple service systems, we help people access the right support at the right time. This integrated, place-based approach enables us to respond to complex challenges while remaining connected to the communities we serve.

“Ultimately it comes down to the people we’re working for. That’s why we are here.”
Christopher John, CEO

Where we're heading

As community needs evolve, so does our organisation. Our Strategic Direction outlines how we will strengthen our impact, deepen our community connections and build a sustainable future for YFS and the people we serve.

Our daily work and long-term development is guided by five interconnected pillars.

Our partnerships

We also know that our direction is determined as much by our goals as by how our community and partners see us. That’s why we conduct regular surveys with our partners to check how we’re progressing against our strategy.
