Homelessness Outreach

If you are in the Logan region and do not have a safe or stable place to live, our Homelessness Outreach team can meet you where you’re at. 

We work with you to overcome barriers to housing and connect you with services and support so you can find safe and stable housing when you’re ready. 

Our Outreach staff visit different public areas in Logan where people are sleeping rough or living in unsafe or temporary situations to: 

• provide safe, non-judgmental conversation and information  

• develop relationships built on mutual respect 

• provide practical support to build housing readiness 

• help people find temporary accommodation 

• connect people sleeping rough with ongoing health, housing, and financial support. 

YFS’ Homelessness Outreach service also works closely with the Logan Zero initiative, which uses data about people’s housing needs to improve how the system responds, making it easier for people to receive the right housing support at the right time. 

Homelessness Outreach regularly visits public areas and other locations where people may be staying, including parks, tents, vehicles, and temporary accommodation.

Staff provide safe, non-judgmental conversation, information, and practical support, and are there to connect when you’re ready. They wear a YFS Homelessness Outreach uniform so they’re easy to recognise.

Our team understands that life can be complicated. They will work alongside you, at your pace, to help you stay safe, connected, and supported.

If you see someone sleeping rough and are concerned about their welfare, you can contact YFS Homelessness Outreach. Our team can attend and attempt to connect with them in the community.

Our Outreach team regularly visit locations including Hugh Muntz Park, Tully Memorial Park, and Gould Adams Park.  

Referrals are welcome from services, government agencies, and community members.
