This morning’s ABC Radio National breakfast program relied on YFS’ Men4Respect coordinator Andrew Taukolo for an insight into boys and young men’s attitudes towards consent and respectful relationships.
Andrew challenged the belief that programs targeting young men need to redefine masculinity. Rather, Andrew says young men need to reclaim masculinity – the positive and respectful ideals if being a man.
Andrew knows that a lot of young men recognise what a respectful young man looks like. What he and his Men4Respect workers have pinpointed is a need to address why it isn’t appealing for many young men to be respectful.
