YFS backs a Yes vote in the Voice to Parliament Referendum.

We believe the Constitution should recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia.

We know that a Voice to Parliament is needed so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities can advise government about matters that relate to them.

Solutions are better when the people they affect have a say. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, having a say in matters that impact their communities will drive positive change. The Voice will help achieve real change for First Nations people and communities through better-informed government policy.

The First Nations people we work alongside have told us the Voice means being, recognised, consulted, heard and understood.

As an organisation we are committed to backing First Nations people and communities to thrive and achieve their aspirations. That’s why we support the Voice to Parliament and the Queensland Government’s Path to Treaty.

We cannot miss these opportunities to advance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations.
